So I found out on Friday that I am going to have to leave my apartment two and a half weeks earlier than I previously thought. This is a good news/bad news situation! Good news because, as my mom so aptly pointed out, this will give me the motivation I’ve been lacking! I do seem to pull it together and get things done more efficiently when I have a deadline looming. The bad news of course is that I now have 2.5 LESS weeks to get my crap in order!
So now I have three weeks left to really step it up. I have been slowly going through all of my belongings. A lot of it is gone….I’m basically camping in my apartment at this point. I still have a few pieces of furniture to sell and lots of stuff to put on eBay. My goal is to be able to move the tiny little bit of stuff that I have left in my mom’s mini van….that is how little will be left.
I started looking at vans a few days ago. I’m not really sure at this point how I will buy one but I’m working on that. First things first I’m going to see how much I can get for my current car after I get it detailed through my barter club. Although, I have so many things coming up in the next few months that don’t involve me being in a van that I may just wait. I just hate to put too many miles on my current car when I want to sell it. So lots of going back and forth on that issue.
I started working on some of my new projects this past week so I’m very hopeful that they will start bringing in money sooner rather than later. It’s been hard to really concentrate on my projects with all the homework and “preparing to move” activities going on. I am proud of myself though for finally deciding WHAT it is that I’m actually going to do so that I can move forward. I know….I’m sorry…..I’m still being a tease!!! I promise that details will follow as soon as things start to shape up a little more.
On the travel front….the next few months are shaping up to be pretty busy!!! I’m very hopeful that I’m going to be able to take a trip to Hawaii to see my Dad and Stepmom in March. April my brother is getting married so I will probably stay around here. In May I will be going out to Omaha for a few weeks to visit and then to help my sister move her stuff out to the East Coast. So it looks like it will most likely be June before I actually get on the road. My thought had been to go south first because I thought I would get to travel before summer and I wanted to go where it was warm. However, I don’t deal well with extreme heat so depending on how late into the summer it gets to be before I’m able to take off I will probably start out by going north. I have been dying to go to New England. I especially would love to go to Salem, MA for Halloween.
